Introducing - Strong Pale Ale

We’re very excited to announce the latest and fourth full time addition to the Balter family. It will be rolling out nationwide over the next month, starting with Queensland, New South Wales and Victoria from Tuesday this week. You can find all of the first stockists here. We will be adding to the list weekly and letting you know when it hits Tasmania, SA and WA.

Introducing Balter Strong Pale Ale - Another gear in the hop-flavour transmission.

Finding just the right option can highlight an already epic zone - like striking the perfect hot/cold balance in your shower at home, or using an iron to hit the green when everyone has teed off with their woods. The Balter Strong Pale Ale is another one of those plumb moments, for hop-lovers who want more than an American Pale Ale, without the grunt of an IPA.

“We talk about ‘the hop gearbox’ a lot at Balter,” says Head Brewer Scott Hargrave. “This is a new shift in the transmission, gearing toward top hops but not revving all the way up. It lets you flirt with a deep taste romance without redlining your flavour engine.”

A relatively underdone category of beer, Strong Pale Ales give beer geeks something to sink their lips into, both taste and talk wise.

“Strong Pales are distinct in that they balance sweetness and bitterness, letting the hop character carry the show,” explains Scott. “However, sometimes any beer above 6% gets automatically graded as an IPA. It’s a grey area and one that makes for fun debates between brewers and beer lovers alike. If you taste the two together though, the difference is pretty clear.”

Packaged in a peach-tipped tin as a salute to it's orchard of fruity accents, The Balter Strong Pale Ale goes a little something like this:

Wrestle your thirst to the mat, with this Strong Pale Ale. Its smooth malt profile drips with juicy hop notes, and a snappy bitterness that finishes with a firm hand. Flex your flavour muscles and crack open the door to a little bit more.

At slightly higher alcohol content, taking a four pack to a BBQ is right on the money in terms of how much you want - until someone pinches some. Let the beer battles begin. Stay strong!
